A catch-all e-mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to non-existent addresses. For instance, if your address is [email protected], but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to [email protected], it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a mistake. The downside of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of junk emails, but this issue can be resolved by using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also crucial to remember that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming emails to a 3rd-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

In case you have a Linux shared hosting service with us and you want to enable the catch-all feature for a certain mailbox that you have in the hosting account, it’ll take literally just one single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain registered in the account. You can pick one address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will enable the feature immediately, so all emails sent to misspelled addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button again will disable the catch-all feature. If you have activated email forwarding, our system will display a warning notice and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply choose another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house built Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each and every semi-dedicated server plan that we offer will permit you to create a catch-all e-mailbox without any difficulty even in case you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to do that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be on the right-hand side of each email address that you’ve set up using your domain names in the hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will inform you if you have already configured another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding activated. In case you reach the decision that you do not need the feature any longer, you can turn it off by clicking once again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
